Data Center Technician - NZ - Timaru District - On-site

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for freelance/contract work in Timaru District, NZ. This is an on-site position supporting mission-critical infrastructure at premier data center facilities.

Engagement Type: Contract/Freelance basis; Flexible scheduling available; Project-based or ongoing support; Remote hands and smart hands services.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling.
• Perform cross-connects and patch panel work.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes.
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of data center or IT infrastructure experience.
