Summary The Periodontist dental officer serves as a practicing dentist who performs a full range of periodontal procedures and surgical implant therapy in connection with the treatment of commonly encountered periodontal diseases. Periodontists may also treat patients requiring extractions of teeth, evaluation and treatment of oral lesion, in connection with medical care needs, consistent with a defined scope of practice. Responsibilities Major Duties and Responsibilities to include but not be limited to: Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity and its adjacent tissues and structures; Diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions. Administer local anesthesia.
