Deputy Middle East Bureau Chief

The Wall Street Journal is seeking a deputy bureau chief to help shape and shepherd our coverage of the Middle East from Dubai or Tel Aviv. You’ll help reporters develop must-read stories about the most dynamic people and issues in the region, conceptualize high-impact stories, elevate breaking news with smart, unique angles, and coach reporters to produce their best work.

• Develop must-read stories about dynamic people and issues in the Middle East.
• Conceptualize high-impact stories and elevate breaking news with smart, unique angles.
• Coach reporters to produce their best work and elevate their writing.
• Write and report strong stories when needed.

• 4-7 years of journalism experience, preferably running relevant coverage.
• Deep understanding of U.S. geopolitics and priorities of the Defense and State departments.
