Job Description
The Wall Street Journal is seeking a deputy bureau chief to help shape and shepherd our coverage of the Middle East from Dubai or Tel Aviv.
You’ll help reporters develop must-read stories about the most dynamic people and issues in the region. You’ll work closely with the Wall Street Journal’s team of reporters throughout the Mideast, helping them conceptualize high-impact stories and elevate breaking news with smart, unique angles.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable handling breaking news, editing ambitious long-form features and coaching reporters to produce their best work. You should also be comfortable jumping into the fray to write and report strong stories of your own.
You have:
+ Impeccable judgment and the ability to exercise it under intense deadline pressure.
+ Sharp writing and editing skills alongside a deep appreciation for the craft of reporting.
