Directional Driller: BHA Mastery, MWD & Well Planning

Roles & Responsibilities

• Skilled in bits including selecting and using bits for motor BHAs.
• Skilled in drilling jars including basic operation.
• Skilled in making well plans.
• Skilled in motors including selecting, operating, and dealing with problems with motor BHAs.
• Skilled in using MWD and gyro surveys.
• Skilled in planning BHAs including rotary and motor BHAs, calculating hydraulics and T and D.
• Skilled in sidetracks including doing a sidetracking.
• Prepare the equipment list at the rig.
• Prepare and QC daily drilling reports to company man and town.
• Prepare fishing diagram of every BHA component.
• Import well plan into the drilling software and confirm the validity of the same.
• Make sure all the BHA components are at the rig site as per proposed BHA.
• Controlling NPT due to malfunctioning of directional tools.
