Director, Observability

The IT Infrastructure Director role is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, management, and operations of enterprise-level monitoring solutions. This person will collaborate with McKesson Technology cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, performance and scalability of application & infrastructure to meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Governance: Develop and implement a multi-year observability strategy. Define enterprise standards for logging, metrics, and tracing, including forecasting telemetry volumes and licensing needs.

Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with engineering, data science, and security teams to embed observability throughout the software development lifecycle and incident response processes.

Operational Excellence: Establish SLAs, improve MTTR, and leverage AIOps to automate monitoring and reduce alert fatigue.
