Dirt Laborer

Position Objective / Description:

Performs a variety of manual construction tasks involving roads, highways and heavy construction projects under the direction of a crew foreman.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy/highway construction projects

+ Work site set up, maintenance, and cleanup, to include scaffolding construction and dismantling, barricade locating, and equipment locating.

+ Load, unload, or distribute materials, machinery, or tools to and from designated locations

+ Direct traffic at or near building sites and carry out other traffic management activities

+ Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth

+ Use picks, shovels, and rakes to level earth or asphalt to grade specifications

+ Position or dismantle forms for pouring concrete, using saws, hammers, nails or bolts...
