Your role

Under the supervision of the P.I. and with the guidance of a CET, the successful candidate will research, write and defend a doctoral thesis provisionally entitled Luxembourg-Brussels, aller-retour. Correspondence, mobility and discourse in the government of a strategic periphery of the Spanish Netherlands (16th-17th c.).

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in history, preferably in early modern history (16th-17th c.) and with a focus on the Spanish Low Countries or on the polycentric monarchy of Spain
  • Some experience with archival sources in French and/or German
  • An interest in the use of digital tools for the processing of archives and the analysis of political discourse
