Economist

A leading investment business is looking to appoint an Economist to support the Fixed Income investment process, with a strong focus on South African and global macroeconomic developments, as well as African economies within an investment portfolio.
This is a high-visibility role suited to someone who is naturally curious, well-spoken, research-driven, and able to translate complex economic insights into clear commentary for internal stakeholders and clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and refine economic models (local + global)
• Track and analyse major global economies and key macro trends
• Present economic views to the Fixed Income team (weekly)
• Provide broader weekly economic updates to the wider business
• Produce written economic commentary / articles for publication
• Monitor approximately 14 African economies (high-level view)
