Education Assistant The Burnaby School District is seeking qualified Education Assistants for on-call assignments. Education Assistants are responsible for providing support for students in and out of the classroom, and within the community. Specifically, assistance is provided in the following: • Behaviour management • Curriculum implementation • Social skills development • Personal care • Physical assistance To be considered, candidates must have the following: Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.Completion of a one year minimum recognized program in special needs assistance or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a full range of students with special needs.Working knowledge of adaptive/assistive technology related to work performedWorking knowledge of computer operation and software applications related to work performed.Thorough knowledge of safety procedures related to work performed.Physica...
