Electrical Design Engineer

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Electrical Design Engineers work on the planning, design, estimation and specification development of electrical components of the projects, searching for new engineering solutions; looking to develop new or existing processes; and working to develop more efficient construction methodology.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs electrical design work including researching data, conducting feasibility and economic studies, and determining design criteria in accordance with required standards and codes for assigned projects.
• Designs and implements cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability and throughput.
• Develops a project specification with colleagues, often including those from other engineering disciplines.
• Develops and evaluates theoretical electrical designs.
