JOB PURPOSE
Petty Officer
Assist the First Electrician in repairing and maintaining electrical equipment and machinery. One’s duties include the maintenance of high and low voltage electrical facilities. He must be able to work on his own and with little supervision. First Electrician can assist in watch keeping routines at desired time by the Engine Officer Chief Watch. One has to assist ship’s engineer in all kind of electrical problems
Extensive successful experience in a similar position within MSC or other Shipping company
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. By arrangement with the Chief Electrician, be on board at any time the First Electrician is absent from the ship.
2. Consult daily with the Chief Electrician concerning methods and procedures for the maintenance and upkeep of the electrical equipment generally within and outside the engine room.
