Emergency Medicine - Registrar/Senior Registrar

This is a unique experience in indigenous health - practising high acuity medicine in a young population where 80% patients are Aboriginal. You will see rheumatic heart disease, bronchiectasis, chronic liver disease, overwhelming sepsis, high rates or renal disease and diabetes as well as significant trauma.
The Hospital services an area of over 1 million km2 with around 50000 presentations a year with a 42% admission rate, median age of 34 years and 22% paediatric presentations.

The ED has accreditation for 18 months of ACEM advanced training, and offers a supportive training environment, with FACEMs on the floor from 0730 till 2400 7 days a week. Our ED registrars can also access rotations to Paediatrics, Anaesthetics, ICU, Tennant Creek (Rural and Remote Medicine) and Retrieval Medicine.
