About the role

The Engineer - Blasting provides engineering support on the management of storage, handling and use of explosive at site, monitoring and auditing adherence to the explosives rules in line with company policy.

What you will be doing

• Checks the blast design for each blast to ensure so far as reasonably practicable that when such firing takes place it will not give rise to danger.
• Ensures that explosives stored, handled and used in a manner which is without risk to the health and safety of persons on or off site, and brings anything which may adversely affect this to the project manager's attention immediately.
• Determines the danger zone shall be determined by the Blasting Engineer in consultation with the project manager and Police authorities.
