Engineering Technician (Mechanical) SME (Open to both U.S. Citizens and Federal Employees)

Summary This position is established to provide instructions to Midshipmen in the Engineering Laboratories and the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of instructional equipment in the various Engineering laboratories used for the Engineering Education Program. Responsibilities As an Engineering Technician (Mechanical), you will: Instruct Midshipmen and provide support for faculty led courses in various Marine Engineering Laboratories. Be responsible for the implementation of proper operational processes and safety procedures in the laboratories. Demonstrate knowledge of welding technology and welding instruction, welding methods in a classroom/laboratory environment. Be responsible for the operation, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, refurbishment, and upgrading of various mechanical instructional equipment in all of the Marine Engineering laboratories.
