Basic Function: The English/Language Arts teacher will be responsible for providing effective instruction in Language Arts. Instruction must be driven by the common core standards. The teacher must implement learning activities that are relevant to the lives of the students. Students with IEPs will be mainstreamed in these classes. So the teacher must provide accommodations as written in the students’ IEPs. Also, the teacher will have to work effectively with a special education co-teacher and paraprofessional.
