Environmental Engineering Technologist

The City of Courtenay invites applications for the full-time regular position of 'Environmental Engineering Technologist' in the Environmental Division of the Infrastructure and Environmental Engineering Department. This is a union position and is subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the current Collective Agreement between the City and CUPE Local 556.

The Environmental Engineering Technologist, working with the Manager of Environmental Engineering, assesses climate hazards and environmental risks, identifies options to reduce risks, and manages projects to build resilience.

Projects relate to rainwater management and green infrastructure; stormwater and drainage systems; shoreline erosion and slope stability; water quality; flood management; greenhouse gas emission reduction, air quality and environmental stewardship.
