Job Description
Summary This position is part of the Office of Environmental Management - Headquarters, Department of Energy. As a Environmental Protection Specialist, you will serve as key policy and technical advisor for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance at EM sites, providing guidance and recommendations on complex and emerging issues relevant to NEPA. Responsibilities As a Environmental Protection Specialist, you will: Formulate, review, and integrate national-level environmental policies, legislative proposals, and regulatory frameworks for the agency. Provide strategic direction, oversight, and administration for major environmental programs, tracking program milestones, and managing the allocation of large-scale funding, grants, or cooperative agreements. Serve as the principal advisor and recognized authority to senior agency leadership, federal/state/local officials, tribal leaders, and private sector representatives on highly sensitive, precedent-setting environmental issue...
