ESOL Teacher

Position

Secondary (Years 7–15) / Wharekura, Certificated Teacher of New Zealand Curriculum (NZC) English in an ESOL context.

Commencement is by negotiation for Term 2 or 3, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach the NZC English curriculum to students in an ESOL context.
• Prepare students for NCEA English assessments and any level of EL unit standards.
• Support the Provisionally Certificated Teacher (PCT) programme and contribute to co‑curricular life.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of the English Language Learning Progressions (ELLP).
• Experience teaching in the NZC.
• Experience preparing students for NCEA English assessments.
• Teaching in the IB Diploma Programme (English A or English B).
• Preparing students for any level of EL unit standards.
• Course design for the secondary NZC English Learning Area.
