Estimating Intern

SUMMARY : Learn and gain an understanding of construction means and methods and estimate preparation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Prepare documents for distribution to estimating team. 
Read and understand contract plans and specifications. 
Perform quantity take-offs. 
Contacting potential vendors and subcontractors. 
Utilize HCSS HeavyBid to help prepare estimates. 
Utilize Primavera P6 scheduling software to prepare basic project scheduled. 
Assist with proposal preparation and submissions. 
Attend pre-bid site visits and hand deliver bid submissions. 
 COMPETENCIES: Communications: ability to produce clear status reports, writes clearly, communicates tactfully and candidly, exhibits clear verbal skills and an excellent listener.
