Family Worker

Job Overview

The Family Worker uses family systems theory to assess and maintain the balance between protecting children and strengthening and maintaining family unity. Under the supervision of the Child Protection Supervisor, the Family Worker carries out the mandate of The Child and Family Services Act of Saskatchewan.

Responsibilities

• Use a strength-based approach to gather, analyze, and interpret child and family information to formulate assessments for case planning.
• Continuously assess the immediacy of risk, make key decisions in consultation with the Supervisor, and respond in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and/or provide direct service to families using an evidence-based approach.
• Document case facts and present evidence in court as necessary.

Location: Onion Lake Child and Family Services.
