Fibre Optic Technician

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, splice, and terminate fiber optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode)
• Perform OTDR, power meter, and light source testing
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber network issues including physical and signal problems
• Route and secure fiber optic cables in buildings and through outdoor environments
• Maintain documentation of network layouts, connections, test results, and splicing records
• Interpret and work from construction drawings, network diagrams, and blueprints
• Conduct site surveys for route planning, risk assessment, and resource estimation
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and industry best practices
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to meet project timelines
