Fibre Technician: Beaufort West

Role Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for building, inspecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining the integrity of the company’s fibre optic network infrastructure, including blown fibre solutions. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform fibre floating (4f, 12f, 72f, 144f & 216f cables) and fusion splicing.
• Conduct OTDR, power meter and light source testing.
• Install and maintain equipment for L2, L3, Wireless & FTTH networks.
• Carry out maintenance on fibre routes, POPs, manholes, SDCs and FTTH complexes.
• Interpret engineering plans and vendor specifications for installations and repairs.
• Perform blown fibre installations and fibre splicing operations for new builds, rearrangements, and repairs.
