Duties Description Candidate will assist with Blanding's turtle conservation efforts throughout the DEC Region 6. Work will include operating turtle traps, maintenance and management of natural and artificial turtle nesting habitats, monitoring turtle nesting habitat use, and nest protection. Work will require orienteering with map, compass, and GPS. Surveys will require working in semi-remote locations during inclement weather conditions and extreme temperatures as well as some office data entry time. Candidates will also assist with spruce grouse monitoring surveys. P. Candidate will also be responsible for other Wildlife duties as assigned. This position will require some weekend and/or evening work and will require the use of PPE such as gloves, ear and eye protection, and high visibility clothing as necessary.
