Freight Brokerage Assistant

ROLE:
Freight Brokerage Assistant (experience in US freight or US logistics is required)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Monitor load boards such as DAT Freight & Analytics and Truckstop to identify profitable loads
• Contact carriers to confirm availability and negotiate rates within approved margin thresholds
• Secure loads with carriers and issue rate confirmations
• Verify carrier authority and compliance documentation, including MC authority, COI, W-9, and carrier agreements
• Schedule and track pickup and delivery appointments
• Monitor load status, collect PODs, and update Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
• Maintain a preferred carrier list and update carrier performance scorecards
• Prepare and submit invoices with complete supporting documentation
• Follow up on detention, layover, and accessorial charges
• Communicate with brokers, shippers, and drivers to ensure timely load execution
