General Internal Medicine

Overview

The University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC) is seeking a qualified General Internal Medicine (GIM) specialist for 0.5 FTE to join our Department of Internal Medicine. The department has seven GIM positions, including a 0.2 FTE Division Lead role.

Responsibilities

A full‑time GIM specialist will provide 36‑40 weeks of scheduled clinical work per year, including:

• 16 weeks per year of inpatient services as medical review panel (MRP) for patients
• Participation in the inpatient daytime consult service for GIM on a rotating basis (1 week in 7)
• Participation in GIM rapid access clinics, peri‑operative assessment clinic, diabetes clinic, and other designated clinics
• Clinical teaching with a clinical faculty appointment
• Participation in the general medicine shared call schedule (approx. 1 in 7 over the year)
