Groundsperson

School District No. 73 (Kamloops-Thompson) is currently accepting applications for the position of Groundsperson. This is a full-time, 8-month position (regular layoff period November to March).Under the limited supervision of the Manager of Grounds, the incumbent carries out a variety of normal maintenance tasks related to maintaining school playgrounds and playing fields, involving grass cutting and/or the operation of power driven equipment while providing advice, direction and guidance to Labourers. Work is varied and requires independent judgement and initiative.TYPICAL DUTIES:Duties involve a variety of tasks including the safe operation and maintenance of grass cutting or power equipment.
