Health & Safety Officer in the Irish Coast Guard, Department of Transport

The Irish Coast Guard (IRCG) is a Division of the Department of Transport. Its mission is to deliver a world class search and rescue, maritime casualty, and pollution response service.

A vacancy now exists for a Health & Safety Officer in the Safety and Quality Compliance Section of the IRCG. This section ensures operational consistency and provides assurance to the IRCG and its stakeholders, that the organisation is being managed in accordance with the IRCG’s Safety Statement.

Reporting directly to the head of this section, the Health and Safety Officer’s main aim is to prevent accidents, injuries and work-related illnesses in the IRCG. The successful candidate will be involved in creating and implementing health and safety policies in accordance with the latest legislation, national and international standards and ensuring that these policies are implemented by management, staff and Coast Guard volunteers.
