Histopathology Consultant

We've been assigned by one of the best performing NHS Trusts in the UK help them recruit a Consultant Histopathology on either a Substantive or a 12 month NHS Fixed Term basis.


The successful appointee will be joining a Histopathology Department team consisting of 5 consultants and one specialty doctor, this laboratory processes approximately 20,953 histology requests per annum and 1549 non-gynecological cytology requests, including some FNA work. The laboratory is UKAS ISO 15189 accredited and HTA licensed to conduct post mortems and store bodies at the trust, and a satellite licenses as a body store at. A new body store facility is being planned as part of phase 2 of the new Hospital rebuild at this trust. This department supports cervical, breast and bowel cancer NHS screening programmes and also have close links with our tertiary referral Centre's at nearby trusts participating in MDT meetings with each other.
