Housekeeping Aid

Summary This position is located within the Environmental Management Services Division at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor or designee. Performs janitorial and custodial duties including textile distribution, sanitizing and disinfecting, waste removal, cleaning blinds, replacing curtains, washing windows and walls, dusting, polishing furniture and fixtures, discharge cleaning, sweeping, scrubbing, floor care, and operating industrial cleaning equipment. Responsibilities Major duties include, but are not limited to: Performs floor maintenance and wall washing. Cleans doors, doorframes, baseboard corners and edges and stairwells. Utilizes pressure washers and heavy industrial powered and battery operated equipment the above task. Adjusts, cleans, and performs minor maintenance on this equipment and changes attachments for their proper use. Empties trash/wastebaskets and replaces liners.
