Responsibilities

The Indigenous Nurse Navigator enhances patient outcomes and experience by facilitating culturally grounded, safe, trauma‑ and violence‑informed care. The role:

  • Provides person‑centered guidance and supports patients and families throughout the cancer continuum.
  • Creates and implements care plans addressing physical, psychosocial, emotional, spiritual, and practical needs.
  • Facilitates access to services such as surgery, oncology, radiation oncology, hematology, and supportive care programs.
