Infection Control Practitioner

The Infection Prevention and Control Practitioner works to reduce the acquisition of healthcare‑associated infections in inpatients and staff. In addition, the ICP works to develop standards for, and assist in, the monitoring of infection control measures, surveillance, and outbreak management in the patient care areas. Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of infection prevention and control initiatives, including educational programs. The ICP acts as a liaison with Public Health and other community agencies on matters related to infection prevention and control.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years recent clinical related experiences – preferred
• Experience in Infection Prevention and Control – preferred
• Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) – preferred
