Infrastructure Ontario (IO) is a Crown agency that plays a pivotal role in supporting the Province’s plan to build, renew, and modernize public infrastructure. Working in partnership with public-sector clients and private-sector partners, IO delivers a range of programs and services designed to strengthen Ontario’s infrastructure and the communities it supports.

Among its core functions, IO administers one of the largest public-sector lending programs in Canada, providing affordable, long-term financing to municipalities and other eligible public-sector organizations to support essential infrastructure projects. With a current portfolio of several billion dollars, the Loan Program is a cornerstone of IO’s mission — enabling critical investments in transportation, energy, housing, healthcare, and community infrastructure across Ontario.
