  • Assist in designing and implementing new jigs, fixtures and other tooling using CAD software; industry job descriptions note that interns often document and release tooling/fixtures using SolidWorks or AutoCAD
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes, identify inefficiencies and propose improvements; this mirrors industry roles where interns work with process engineers to optimize processes and reduce costs
  • Support automation initiatives and manufacturing connectivity projects to enhance efficiency and traceability.
