Internal Audit Manager

3 months contract with a local authority Job Purpose Deliver a portfolio of risk-based, complex and/or high-profile internal audits in accordance with the Councils Internal Audit Plan and methodology, and in line with the Global Internal Audit Standards, the Application Note: Global Internal Audit Standards in the UK Public Sector, and the Code of Practice for the Governance of Internal Audit in the UK Public Sector. Key Duties/Accountabilities Deliver complex and high-profile internal audits in accordance with the Internal Audit Plan. Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls across finance, housing, social care, procurement, and commercial operations. Produce clear, evidence-based audit reports with practical recommendations. Plan and prioritise workloads to ensure delivery within budget and performance targets.
