Background
The Revenue Mobilisation, Investment and Trade (REMIT) Programme, funded by the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and implemented by Adam Smith International (ASI), provides technical assistance to the Government of Pakistan to improve the business environment, attract investment, and support sustainable economic growth.
In August 2025, the Government of Pakistan launched the New Energy Vehicles (NEV) Policy 2025–30, aimed at accelerating the transition to electric mobility and clean energy. A central pillar of this transition is the development of a domestic lithium-ion battery manufacturing ecosystem, which is critical for electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and renewable energy integration.
