Purpose of the Position
To ensure the stability, continuity and controlled evolution of core business systems within a global corporate and investment banking environment , operating at the intersection of mission-critical legacy platforms (Mainframe / COBOL) and ongoing modernization initiatives.
The role exists to sustain daily banking operations by taking full ownership of application support beyond incident resolution, developing a deep understanding of core business processes, and acting as a bridge between technology teams, business users, infrastructure, vendors and leadership .
In a highly regulated, high-availability financial environment , this position ensures that systems remain reliable, compliant and resilient , while progressively enabling modernization initiatives without compromising operational stability or risk posture .
