Job Description
This 1st shift Jr. Development Technician position will be located in the Howmet Research Center. The position will work in the Develop Services Laboratory (DSL) Monoshell and wax rooms, with the aim of supporting R&D projects and ceramic technologies through careful testing and observations of materials and results.
Overtime, including weekends, possible with varying workload.
Primary responsibilities include:
+ Weighing and mixing of materials, including use of precision laboratory balances, high-shear mixers, lifts/hoists, and furnaces/ovens.
+ Understands and applies batch formulas, process directions, product criteria, work instructions, and other documents.
+ Monoshell mold build and mold dewax.
+ Performs slurry testing, materials inventory control, calibrations, and recordkeeping.
+ Uses precision laboratory instruments for measuring material properties.
