Kaimahi toko i te ora - Social Worker will work collaboratively across all NMIT campuses to provide integrated, culturally responsive social work services that enhance ākonga wellbeing, engagement and success. The roleoperateswithin NMIT’s stepped-care learner wellbeing model, providing early intervention, brief support, crisis response and coordinated referral to internal and external services. The role is non-clinical and focused on social work practice, advocacy,safeguardingand systems navigation. This role must be undertaken by a registered social worker.

The key responsibilities for the role are:

• Provide social work support to ākonga using a strengths -based, trauma- informed and culturally responsive approach.
• Work with individuals, whānau and groups to address social, financial, housing, legal and wellbeing barriers to learning.
