Kitchen Staff

PRINCIPAL / JOB PURPOSE

The Kitchen Staff is primarily responsible for keeping a company kitchen and cafeteria/mess hall clean as well as assisting in food preparation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Responsible Assist cook in the food preparation process by washing, peeling, cutting, chopping, slicing vegetables, meat and other meal ingredients.
• Sets up mis-en-place station (French term for having all your ingredients measured, cut, peeled, sliced, grated, etc. before you start cooking ) for the various meal periods according to performance standard
• Storing ingredients and food items according to food safety standards
• Follow all food, health, and safety requirements.
• Buying and unloading food supplies.
• Clean and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, cutting boards and food preparation work stations (manual or machine wash).
