Laboratory Analyst

Overview

This position is responsible for production chemistry that maintains high quality and output in the analytical laboratory. Assaying is carried out using established methods and schedules, while ensuring analytical quality as well as the adherence to safe laboratory practices by working in accordance with the ALS Health and Safety Program.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain analytical balances in accordance to ALS procedures.
• Accurately weigh pulp samples within ALS established weight ranges and standardized work instructions.
• Inspect prepared pulp samples for homogeneity.
• Identify suspect samples and report to the Analytical Laboratory Manager.
• Report all quality concerns to the Analytical Laboratory Manager, including equipment or sample concerns, and correct problems with assistance from the Manager.
