Laboratory Technician

An opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician within the Alloy Plant at our Exeter site. This role operates on a 3-shift rotation, and reports to the Laboratory Supervisor.

3 -Shift Rotation consists of 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm/10pm-6am. Shift premium payable.

Your main responsibilities will include;
+ Analysis of alloy samples by instrumental techniques using; Combustion, Optical emission and X-ray Fluorescence techniques. Samples include preliminary melt samples, certification samples, and remelt samples from casting plants and external customers
+ Preparation of samples for analysis
+ Routine maintenance of laboratory equipment
+ Routine standardisation of laboratory equipment
+ Maintaining 5S within laboratory
+ Inputting of results to LIMS
+ Calculating bath additions during heat manufacture using LIMS and Optimat
