Lead Engineer, Server Programmability

Overview

Join and lead MongoDB’s Server Programmability team, helping build the core of a distributed database. Server Programmability’s responsibilities include improving local server development experience and velocity, enhancing the programming model, and building low level reusable software components that can be leveraged by other teams working on the database. Our team currently consists of six engineers, located in New York City and fully remote. We operate close to the bottom of the stack and have influence over the performance and robustness of our open source database as well as the development efficiency of the engineering team. We’ve built tooling to support better modularization of the server codebase, migrated server unit testing to an open-source framework, and are evaluating the feasibility of introducing coroutines to the Server codebase.
