Lead Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard)

Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the 18 FSS Aquatics on Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan. Responsibilities Responsible for overseeing and coordinating activities at a designated pool. Serves as lead lifeguard and performs lifeguard duties. Inspects and sets up facilities for scheduled activities, i.e., open swim, swim lesions, water aerobics, scuba classes, pool parties, lap swim, etc., and ensures the facility is opened at the scheduled times with adequate staffing. Oversees pool operations during scheduled shift. Ensures staff complies with current policies, procedures, and written instructions. Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Maintains order and enforces established rules of safety and behavior. Instructs cautions and/or expels patrons as appropriate.
