Embrace a teaching role in social movements and justice at Wilfrid Laurier University. This in-person course delves into challenges faced by vulnerable populations over Winter 2027.
WLU is seeking an instructor for the SK421 BR course in the BSW Program. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Social Work or be working towards a PhD. This position is designed to explore the purpose and strategies of social movements advocating for marginalized communities, enhancing social justice discourse.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct engaging lectures on social change theory
• Guide discussions on vulnerable populations
• Evaluate student performance and progress
• Create and modify educational resources
• Handle 30-35 students in class discussions
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Social Work or active PhD
• Proven teaching effectiveness required
• Knowledge of social justice and equity issues
• Skills in fostering inclusive learning experiences
