# About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: **Essential criteria** 1. PhD in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics or a closely related subject* 2. Outstanding teaching ability 3. Expertise in English grammar, discourse analysis and/or English language teaching 4. Ability and willingness to make a broad contribution to teaching and supervision beyond specialist area 5. Strong communication skills with excellent written and spoken English 6. Expertise in teaching the following subjects at UG and/or PGT level: English Grammar; Discourse Analysis, Language Teaching Methodology
7. Experience of teaching in UK Higher Education **Desirable criteria** 1.
