As a Municipal Lawyer, you will collaborate with Legal Services and City Departments, providing legal advice, preparing documents, and managing negotiations. Your role is to anticipate legal outcomes and facilitate problem-solving through insightful legal strategies. You will draft bylaws and contracts, while attending Council meetings to present necessary legal information and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Offer legal and procedural advice to Council and staff
• Draft, review, and advise on various legal documents
• Negotiate agreements to safeguard municipal interests
• Attend and participate in Council Committee meetings
• Lead special projects with multidisciplinary teams
