Position Overview

Legal Counsel, Legal Department, Montreal – junior level.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Assistant General Counsel with various legal matters.
• Structuring and implementing international commercial and corporate transactions.
• Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating customer, supplier, shipbuilding, and financing agreements.
• Providing legal assistance on labour & employment and immigration matters.
• Assessing legal risk and developing mitigation strategies.
• Analyzing laws and regulations and providing related guidance to business units.

Qualifications

• Law degree from a recognized university; a degree or experience in common law is an asset.
• 1 to 5 years of legal experience in commercial or corporate law.
• Member in good standing of a recognized Bar.
• Ability to effectively prioritize files and manage time.
