Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

JOB SUMMARY: The Licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN) provides planned individualized care to residents to promote quality of life, within the Scope of Practice of LPN’s, under the direction of the Registered Nurse ( RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse ( RPN).

Reports to the Care Coordinator or Designated Supervisor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborates with the Registered Nurse.
• Assist residents with or fully provide care as needed to meet activities of daily living, i.e. nutritional needs, personal hygiene, bathing, skin care, hair and nails, bathing, toileting and dressing. Oversees prescribed exercise routines.
• Lifts, transfers, ambulates and transports residents utilizing mechanical aides such as lifts, wheelchairs and walkers.
• Carries out nursing procedures according to facility standards such as:
  • Administration of oral, tropical, and injectable medications as per facility policy.
