Locum Consultant in Orthopaedics

Applicants are sought for a 6 month locum full time Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in Arthroplasty and Soft Tissue Knee.

The post would involve working at Scunthorpe Hospital, Diana Princess of Wales Hospital and Goole Hospital.

The basic job plan would consist of 11.13 PA's with a 1:7 oncall pattern.

Main duties of the job

It is anticipated that the successful candidate would be comfortable to manage acute and chronic soft tissue knee conditions such as multi-ligament injuries, meniscal tears, isolated ligament injuries and patellofemoral instability. The successful candidate would also have an interest in the management and preservation of young adult knee degenerative conditions i.e. cartilage procedures and osteotomy.

Some of these cases are tertiary referrals from neighbouring NHS trust hospitals.
